Don't let anyone tell you that there is a teacher shortage - trust me, there is NOT! About the time I changed careers, the economy hit the toilet and I've been looking for a teaching job ever since. Apparently, I'm not sleeping with the right people - it's all about WHO you know, not WHAT you know. Not that I know a whole lot - I AM a new teacher, but I have 20 years of grown-up, professional experience behind me, so I feel like I'm a little ahead of the new graduates (plus, I'd be cheap too)!
I know my time will come and I'll "end up where I'm supposed to be", but in the meantime I'll just bitch and groan.
I miss the camaraderie of belonging to a team of people and working together for the greater good (or sitting around griping about the greatest bad - ha ha)!
I need a purpose, besides "mom" or "cleaner" or "taxi driver" - something more fulfilling to pass the time.
One of these days...
